Would You Like An Ancient Prayer To Become Part
Of Your Method For Living?
The
Prayer of St. Francis has been prayed and relied upon for years
by Christians, as well as people of all religious backgrounds
including those who are in recovery/12-step programs. It is
considered the higher path to spiritual and emotional perfection.
In case you're not familiar
with these classic lines, they are:
"God grant me the Serenity
to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to
change the things I can and the Wisdom to know the difference."
While popular opinion attributes
some form of this prayer to St. Francis of Assisi, others say
it was written by Dr. Reinhold Niebuhr in 1932, as the ending
to a longer prayer. Later, a Dr. Robbins asked permission to
use that part of the longer prayer in a compilation that was
later noticed by Bill W., the co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous.
It has since become an important part of that movement.
Regardless of your religious
beliefs or circumstance in life, the 3 qualities sought in this
prayer: Serenity Courage and Wisdom, once developed into practice
in a real life, equal a state of inner growth experienced by
very few.
For some time now, InnerGear
has been testing and developing a title that doesn't replace
the spiritual aspect of the act of praying, but turns the pursuit
and proximity of these 3 key qualities into a reality as much
as part of your daily life as your own name.
Serentiy(#441) works either
on it's own, or in conjuction with any program which supports
the development of these key traits as part of a larger goal
of self-growth, self-healing, and self-control.
